About

Personal introduction

Welcome to V2 Recovery. I am Victoria Sharman, and since 2000 I have helped individuals, couples and families to undertake their own personal journeys toward healing and resilience. Whether you choose to meet online for convenience or prefer in-person sessions, my objective is always the same: to provide an accessible, empathetic, and supportive therapeutic space where you actively discover your inner strength and true well-being.

How I work – my approach

Effective therapy begins with genuine recognition and listening. I approach every session with enthusiasm and a deep interest in your unique story.

Known for my strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills and my ability to guide problem resolution, I frequently check in, asking: “Did I listen to that right? Do I understand what you are saying?” This isn’t just a technique; I use it to actively focus our work on your challenges and goals.

I uphold the BACP and UKCP ethical codes of good practice and the Professional Standards Authority, guaranteeing that all services reflect integrity and the highest professional standards.

Empathy, connection, and accessibility

My expertise lies in more than just knowing theoretical concepts; it is in transforming those concepts into practical, successful therapy both online and in-person.

My online clients receive the same warm, secure, and empathetic approach you will experience in my counselling room, helping to build a personal connection. This means you have the highest quality, evidence-based care delivered right to your device, ensuring consistency and confidentiality no matter where you are. My goal is to make sure distance is never a barrier to your recovery.

Accessibility is paramount. The challenges in our lives do not adhere to a 9-to-5 schedule, and neither should your support. Offering both online and in-person sessions allows me to meet you where you are – literally and emotionally – making sure help is available when you need it most.

A holistic scope: supporting individuals, couples and families

Emotional struggles rarely exist in isolation, which is why my practice encompasses individuals, couples and families.

  • Individuals seeking personal recovery, managing anxiety, depression, or handling major life transitions.
  • Couples looking to repair communication, rebuild trust, or strengthen their foundational connection.
  • Families aiming to improve dynamics, resolve conflict, or deal with challenges collaboratively.

My experience across these varied settings gives me a complete perspective, allowing me to understand how one person’s recovery impacts the wider system.

Key areas that I specialise in:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Relationships (including inter-cultural)
  • Separation
  • Parenting
  • Loss and bereavement
  • Trauma
  • Stress

Professional Counselling and Clinical Supervision

Beyond direct therapy, I am deeply committed to maintaining the highest standards in the counselling and therapy professions.

Furthermore, I offer Clinical Supervision to other professionals, providing a supportive, insightful space for them to reflect on their own practice, ensuring quality care and promoting professional growth within the therapeutic community. I also provide supervisees with professional and interpersonal relationship skills that will aid resolution to challenges within the workplace.
