Individual Counselling

Do you experience prolonged feelings of emptiness/hopelessness or do you need to rebuild your self-esteem and resilience?

Asking for help can feel like the hardest step to take in life – however you do not have to face your struggles alone. At V2Recovery, my empathetic approach will create a safe, trusting relationship where you feel truly heard and understood. One to one counselling, with me, in-person or online will help you better manage and understand difficult emotions and feelings you may be experiencing, including managing anxiety and stress. I can help you make sense of problems in order to discover solutions that can help overcome a wide spectrum of life’s many challenges and hurdles. This will in turn facilitate confidence, peace of mind, and greater levels of happiness.

My approach to professional counselling is rooted in trauma-informed therapy, ensuring sensitivity to your unique experiences and needs. I am skilled in EMDR, a therapeutic method designed to help your mind process and recover from distressing memories, allowing you to move forward without being held back by past pain. This tailored support addresses personal struggles as well as the emotional effects associated with cultural heritage, including aspects such as race, faith, and racial identity.

Your well-being is always my top priority. I guarantee complete confidentiality and strive to make high-quality support easily accessible, offering online counselling for relationships to meet your needs. I am wholeheartedly committed to understanding you, bringing sincere interest and enthusiasm to every session. I will always clarify with you to ensure our conversations are truly understood and meaningful.

Family Relationships

“Family relationships are one of the greatest facilitators of happiness.” –John C. Maxwell

Family relationships play a pivotal role in our lives and are an essential component of good psychological and emotional wellbeing. Family connections provide us with care, love, and support. Families form, in essence, a cohesive emotional unit built upon love and respect. When one person struggles, it causes disharmony and negatively impacts other family members, potentially leading the whole unit to break down.

To help and understand the family dynamics, I lead with empathy and build a genuine trusting relationship with each family member. I know how difficult it is to see someone you love struggling. I also know how to motivate someone who is struggling – together, we can do this. Through systemic family psychotherapy and counselling (a way of understanding interaction within families), I use my 25 years+ of experience to assess complex relational patterns and help you alter them. My goal is to bring about productive change through positive cycles of interaction, all while maintaining absolute confidentiality and making care accessible through options like online therapy for families.

In our sessions, I will:

  • Work in partnership with family members to explore difficult thoughts and emotions safely. I will also help develop simple and easy emotion focused coping strategies.
  • Talk about each person’s hopes, needs and goals in a way that keeps their important relationships connected.
  • Guide family members towards sustaining positive interactions by evolving communication styles. This helps to keep everyone connected within a safe, peaceful and supportive atmosphere.

Couples Relationships

Have you stopped communicating?
Do you feel as if you and your partner are growing apart?
“We are born to love” (Fisher, 2004)

Romantic relationships are one of life’s greatest joys and sources of happiness, offering fulfilment, love, and intimacy. Yet, when couples encounter conflict – be it loss of affection, infidelity, or a simple breakdown in communication – it causes significant pain, loneliness, and anguish.

Choosing to seek help and discuss sensitive relationship issues is a huge step. I always prioritise building a genuine, trusting relationship with you, and with total confidentiality. I can help you both rediscover each other and create an awareness of any unconscious relationship dynamics or patterns that may be negatively impacting your ability to be happy.

I specialise in relationship counselling online and in-person sessions, including specific areas where relationships face unique challenges, such as inter-cultural relationship therapy (covering mixed culture, blended families, and same-sex couples).

Our approach to resolution

Our couples therapy and counselling sessions focus on achieving a loving, optimal resolution that leads to growth, both individually and as a couple. I show interest and enthusiasm, and I always check with you to ensure that I understand correctly what you or your partner are saying to me.

You will also learn new, pragmatic ways to relate and respond to each other’s needs and vulnerabilities. This resilience-building counselling helps resolve your issues respectfully and constructively.

Together we can work through your challenges to help make living together – or living apart (including separation or divorce) – work for both of you. This includes helping children to cope with co-parenting.
